Post Post subject: Hasland CFC Football Boots Scheme
Last month I started clearing out my garage and an hour later realised that I had 3 pairs of my sons old football boots in sizes 12, 1 and 2 but not only did we still have 3 old pairs, every one of them was in almost perfect condition.

A week later when my son told me that he was playing in one of his mates old pairs today because “I fancy a change” I decided that I would do something about it.

We all know that kids feet grow quickly and now that we are training on the astro turf some children will be wearing their boots no more than half a dozen times before they need to be replaced by larger, expensive boots.

Therefore we have decided to trial a “boot exchange scheme” where players can bring in any boots that no longer fit them and trade them in for larger sizes which have been brought back by older children or those with bigger feet.

Any boots brought back will be cleaned and any that we feel are in good condition (and I imagine that will be most of them) will be made available for everyone else.

The aim of the scheme will be 3 fold.

1) That parents can buy football boots in good condition for much less than the cost of a new pair
2) That the club can raise some funds from doing so
3) That any boots surplus to requirements can be donated to a charity for children in developing countries to use.

Once we have a stock of boots the scheme will run as follows;

Cost of any pair of boots where a pair in good condition is given to the scheme £ 4
Cost of any pair of boots with none brought back £ 7 (subject to availability)

Now here’s the bit where we need your help…….it’s all about the bit above which says “once we have a stock of boots”.

If anyone has any old football boots which their children have grown out of (and there are no younger siblings who are likely to grow in to them) we would be pleased to receive them as a donation to starting up the scheme…..all sizes gratefully accepted.

Ian Jenkins, the under 12’s manager will be running this and any boots can be given to Ian at training on Wednesday nights at Tupton (around 6.30 or 7.30) or give Ian a ring on 01246 202381 or 01908 855947 and he will arrange to collect them from you.

Once we have a decent stock, we will make everyone aware of the sizes and types that are available on the web site and we will also bring them to training for the kids to try on

Thanks for your help in this, we hope it will turn out to be successful and that everyone wins (apart from JJB!!!)
